Our Anniversary

A couple of weeks ago Emily and I celebrated our one year anniversary! We knew it was going to be our last weekend to travel and get our travelbugs out of our system... unfortunately, we were limited with our options... As most of you know, the wife is prego and ready to pop any day now, so flying somewhere was out of the question :) Luckily, we had the opportunity to stay up at Kohl's Ranch near a town in Arizona called Payson. It turned out to be exactly what we needed. There were plenty of places to go hiking at, and the lodge was a great spot to just relax, go for a walk, get some good country food (really good country fried steak!). While there we took a trip up to the Mogollon Rim, which for those of you who do not know is a long plateau that runs for miles... needless to say, it was beautiful. We even took some maternity pics, which I must admit is NOT my specialty, but I figured I would have a go with it and Emily was willing to ablige :) She was really great about it; it was SO cold up there with the wind chill but she didn't complain at all... only gave me a few 'hurry up' faces every once in a while, but that should have been expected! Here are the pics from our trip...

They had this grand piano at the lodge so I brushed up on my piano playing...

We saw this group of birch trees... I have wanted to take some pics of birch trees before so I couldn't pass up the chance... Em snapped this one of me. The cool trees make the picture :)

  1. great maternity pics, even if not your specialty. : ) Is that Kohl's Ranch Lodge by chance that you stayed at, with the grand piano in the lodge? : )
