And then we fell in love...

This past week, Andrew and I took Temple to Escondido (near San Diego) to visit our best friends out there (Andrew grew up there and didn't move to Phoenix until his early twenties.) We try to get out to San Diego at least twice a year to see everyone and enjoy the landscape. I LOVE the green hills and winding roads! The beach is a big plus too! We took Temple to the beach for the first time and she was so cute! She LOVED moving her little feetsies in the sand and staring at the crashing waves (we will post a BLOG with pics of her at the beach soon). It was a great weekend to reminisce because 2 years ago on that EXACT weekend, I first met all of Andy's best friends, AND he proposed to me! :)

We started dating on Valentines Day 2008 (cheesy right? :)) and I am pretty forward person so I told him on our first date "Look, you need to decide if you're interested in marrying me, because if not, I don't want to have a second date." I did not want to date any losers, I wanted the real thing. By the way, we had been distant acquaintances for a few years before he finally asked me out. Apparently this didn't scare him away because he got really serious and proposed just 3 months later! I had NO idea he was going to propose this quick!

One of his best friends Bobby Earle, is an international wedding photographer located in Escondido, CA and Andy knew that I LOVED his photography so he and Bobby set up a photo shoot for us. We went out to San Diego for Spirit West Coast Del Mar but left early to visit his friends. While there, Bobby asked if Andy and I wanted to have a "couples photo shoot" just for fun and I was stoked! Yes yes yes I did! Andy didn't seem too excited for it but I didn't care! I did not have any pictures of us together. We started our photo shoot and it was SOOO much fun to have Bobby take our pictures (for once in my life I WANTED to be in FRONT of the camera....)

We just got the pictures from Bobby this week (2 years later) because with the hustle and bustle of marriage and a honeymoon and pregnancy and then a baby, I totally forgot! It's still so fun to look back at them though... our engagement through pictures... Enjoy!

We stopped at Starbucks first... needed some caffeine!

Then we found a ripping field...

Then we went to the beach... Andy's favorite beach and my new favorite beach- Carlsbad.

Then Andy sat me down on a rock and stared deep into my eyes and said "This is such a beautiful moment... I wish I had a ring right now. Oh wait! I do!" and he reached in his pocket...

I was in COMPLETE shock!

I kept saying "No way! Really? Are you serious!? Is this a joke?" and finally after a few minutes of that, he looked at me and said "So, is that a yes or a no?" And this is how I responded...

Then I laughed...

I cried...

And I said "Andrew James Fleming, I absolutely will marry you."

And then I realized that ALL of his best friends were there witnessing the whole thing! And they shared in our excitement! I LOVE Lindsay Earle and Debra Mavis!
