Engagement Shoot: Sara & Adrian

So if you know about the summers here in Phoenix (which most of you do :), you know that it is usually too hot to shoot an engagement session outside. With that in mind, plus the fact that Emily and I have always wanted to do a photo session up in Sedona, AZ, we decided to head north and do Sara and Adrian's engagement session. Sedona is one of the most beautiful places in the United States, I kid you not. If you have never been, I strongly encourage you to go and see it for yourself; red rock mountains in all directions surrounded by pines, dipping into valleys and creeks and rivers. It is just about as good as it gets here in Arizona.

To do a photo shoot, however, it is a bit of a challenge as we all discovered when we got there :) It's not the type of place where you just get out of your car and start shooting, you need to have an idea of where you want to go, especially if you are wanting to get the infamous red rocks in your shots. It proved difficult for a couple reasons. First is that it was Labor Day weekend! :) This was insane! People everywhere and traffic in all directions which made it hard to get around. Second is that even where there were no people, there we houses in every shot you could try to take. And on top of that, the time we reserved to go up there and look around was hindered by a car on fire along the way which held us up about an hour or so. Safe to say, it was an interesting shoot :)

With that said, these are some of my favorite images of any engagement shoot we have done yet :) I was REALLY happy with how they came out and Emily and I had a TON of fun with Adrian and Sara. They are so easy to work with and were perfectly comfortable in front of the camera (Well, Adrian took a few minutes to warm up but it took him no time to get into the groove :) We are so excited to shoot their wedding in a few months!
