Sara and Greg

Emily and I had a photo shoot about a week and a half ago. Vicky, one of Emily's good friends from High School, has a brother (that would be Greg) who is moving to Alaska with his new bride (that would be Sara :) of 6 months (don't quote me on that). They are already married, but Carla, Greg's mom, wanted to know if we would take some pictures of a mini reception they were having at their house for the 2 newlyweds before they headed off for 3 YEARS to Fairbanks (which I hear, contrary to common belief, is rather cold :). They are going there because Greg is in the Army and he is being stationed there for the next few years.

It was a really relaxed atmosphere with just family and their dog Hobbes (as in Calvin & Hobbes, the BEST cartoon strip of all time IMO :). It wasn't our typical reception shoot where we are on the move the entire time capturing the details and the decor, the first dance, guarder toss, it was way more relaxed for us... It was a really fun and laid-back time for us as we are used to trying to catch our breath between important shots to capture. Greg wore his Formals and Sara wore a simple gold colored dress. The nice thing was that they were not trying to impress anyone or worried about their guests having a nice time... everyone knew each other and they just hung out as a family and threw in a couple wedding traditions to make it special. :D

Greg and Sara are a unique couple. They are really goofy together and seem like they really just love each other's company. It is always so rad to see married couples that still act like they are dating. :) He loves his bride very much and I am sure they are going to grow so much while living in their new home... They actually left a couple days after their mini reception. Greg, thank you for your service to our country and for the time you are putting in to keep our country safe. Sara, thank you for going with your man and being by his side. For a man, there is no greater feeling than that of a wife that would follow you wherever you go because she loves and trusts you. You're a lucky man :)

I love my country and I have a great appreciation for the men and women that support us in the military.

Greg's mom and her husband... so much love I can't stand it :D

Vicky put together a Newly Wed game for everyone... some of the questions were not appropriate for our readers 16 and under :P
