Verrado Photographers : The Knudson Family

We are blessed indeed to have so much family here in Phoenix. For one, there is an endless supply of baby sitters :). On the other hand, we have a great connection with people who need photographs taken that we wouldn't have met otherwise. It's a plus!

Brooke and Dave Knudson, along with their 4 kids, are great friends with Kylee and Jared, who are on Emily's side of the family. They wanted to get their family pictures taken after their precious little girl, Maci, was born. We, of course, were all for it!

I am so excited about photographing kids! This is probably for a different reason than most parents, especially moms. Most parents want their kids to give a great smile and look at the camera and then they can show all the rest of their friends and family how cute and well behaved their kids are. Not me, though :). I most love the shots with kids giving awkward looks, because you can SEE what they're thinking! They don't care that mom and dad paid for a photographer and that mommy really wants great smiles... they just care about getting to play with the wiffle ball and bat props they brought for the shoot. :D Now that doesn't mean we don't get those great smiles and happy faces, BUT... far more often we get the look that says "Can I stop sitting down now?" and "I have to go potty." But that's life, folks. Kids will be kids. Some day I want to have a family picture in the living room where Emily and I are looking at the camera and both kids are crying because we are forcing them to sit down for a photograph. :)

I happen to think that babies with rolls are the cutest things ever created! :)

This was a great moment; the kids spotted a ladybug and we spent the better part of 10 minutes passing it around and watching the boys be so fascinated by it. Except for Cole who didn't want to have anything to do with a dirty little insect. :)
