I have been working on this blog post for the past couple weeks and I am super excited to finally be able to show all of Caleb and Sarah's friends and family their awesome wedding pictures! :) This is no doubt a MONSTER of a blog post, but it is intended for everyone that couldn't be at the wedding, and for you to see how beautiful a DIY (do-it-yourself) wedding can turn out! Sarah is very near and dear to Emily and I; she is one of a handful of people that I consider to be creatively genius and is such an endearing friend. Emily and Sarah lived together when Emily and I were dating and I got to know Sarah pretty well over the past few years. Not only is she a killer second shooter as a photographer, she is a beautiful bride!
Caleb, you dawg! :) Caleb is my brother (in-law, but that sounds so formal, doesn't it?). He is also one of my best friends in Phoenix, and I am so proud of him and completely amazed at how well he and Sarah mesh together. They have been friends for years, and Caleb fell in love with her a looong time ago and was waiting for the right time to break it to her. It took Sarah a little longer to catch on, but no one can deny that they have a wonderful love for each other; rooted in friendship, now anchored in the sanctity and security of marriage.
They were married almost 2 weeks ago at the Dancing Apache Lodge up in Sedona (well, technically it's in Cornville, but Sedona sounds 'prettier' :) I want to give a huge shout out to a few people; Michelle Rohlf who headed up the planning with Sarah and made the whole wedding run SO smooth! Sarah's mom, Kim Forrest, and her 'party fairies (her term :) who absolutely killed it in the kitchen! I felt like I was in heaven at dinner! :) Janelle of JE Photography who second shot with me! We had a great time working together and she was a HUGE compliment to me as both of my other shooters were in the wedding :). Joanna Ballentine, another dear friend of ours, did all the girl's hair and she is an AMAZING hair tech! Also, I want to recognize Liz Margin for her killer job on Sarah's makeup!
Here is Caleb and Sarah's wedding story in pictures. There are a TON of pictures (just for you, Jill, all the way over in Korea ;), I hope you enjoy :)
Caleb and Sarah decided to see each other before the ceremony and read their hand written vows in private. This was the second time I have captured this kind of intimate moment and I am always so in awe of the beauty of it.
Right before the ceremony, Sarah spending some time with her mom.
Now, I don't mean to brag, but I have the best looking little man in the world! :) Emily, quite the creative lady herself, handmade Wyatt a little tuxedo onesie :)
Boys don't need these things...
When The Ting Ting's start playing 'That's not my name', Caleb and I have a little tradition...
Cory Beal, who MC'd the night away, made Caleb really work for the Sarah's garter. :)
There was a polaroid photo booth, so after you took your pictures, you would go and hang them in the tree. Genius :)
By far the FUNNIEST set of pictures for the wedding :)
As they left, unbeknownst to Caleb, Sarah had everyone with silly string on the way to the car!
The wedding was an absolute blast to photograph. I am so happy for Caleb and Sarah and hope that they are blessed with these images for many many years to come :)
