An Awesome Brother: Meet Taylor

First of all, I would like to say sorry to all of our faithful blog readers. We have been swamped with weddings the last two weeks so we have not been able to update our blog as much as we would like. But we are back in motion now! :)

As Andrew and I are sitting here looking over and editing photos from Alex & Micaela's wedding, we came across a few pictures of one of Micaela's brothers, and we both said out loud (at the same time) how cool his speech at the wedding was. Random! :) Since we attend A LOT of weddings, we always enjoy a good speech or a funky, new dance, or a surprise that the bride & groom were not anticipating. During "speech time" at their wedding, Alex's best man, Dietmar, and Micaela's maid of honor, Angela, gave awesome, heartfelt speeches. But then as "speech time" came to a close, Taylor (Micaela's brother) stood up and announced he had something to share. He had written a poem for them. First of all, If you know me, I am a sucker for poems and handmade cards and things that show how much someone cares, and second of all, what [very cool] 19 year old guy would write a poem for his sister and her new husband!? As Taylor was saying it, it sounded more like a rap... which I liked even more.

So! I thought I would share it with all of you. And for all you brides, maybe it will give your brothers inspiration for what to say about you on your wedding day! ;)

Always There

At the Grand Canyon he presented the ring
During the wedding they realized one thing
They realized the happiness and joy their lives bring

Remember the moments that you two would share
Remember when she'd grab you like a big teddy bear
Remember when you kissed playing truth or dare
Remember when he told you "don't ever be scared".
The reason why is because he'll always be there.
Just goes to show you how much he does care.

The journey you make and the risks you will take, life will come fast and come slow.
But the love that you know, as both your hearts grow, I'm glad your in the family now, bro.

As you two will see how hectic life can be, be there for each other and care.
But above all is love, that you two will share, just know he'll always be there!
