Our new addition...

If you know my wife and I, you would know that we aren't really animal people... She is less than I, but my ideal homestead doesn't really involve a bunch of pets around. I LIKE ANIMALS, don't misunderstand me, but I don't want to have to take care of them so having friends with pets is good enough for me. :) If we were to get a pet, it would have to be pretty low-maintenance to enjoy our home...

So we bought a fish! :) Meet Dietrich...

I was out and about while Emily was out with Temple. She gets a hold of me and asks if I would be cool if we bought a fish. That actually sounded like fun so I was game as long as it didn't stink :-) You know what I'm talking about; have you ever been to someone's house and it smelled like an aquarium? (I may have just offended some of you :). Well that is what I didn't want. Anyways, Dietrich is pretty low-key. He keeps to himself mostly, usually ducking behind his fake orange plant thing when we come around. I don't blame him, I would freak out if a giant foreign creature came up to MY fish bowl with it's big protruding eyes trying to get my attention.

Temple likes him... as you can see, they are having a stand-off to see who is higher in the food chain :)

This is Dietrich letting his curiosity get to him and coming out of his hiding place...
