So Jason, my brother, tells Em and I that Pei Wei, this wonderful Asian restaurant chain that we love to hit up, is having their 10-year anniversary and are offering a killer deal; 2 entrees for $10. "Sweet! Let's do that..." So yesterday we order online and go into the restaurant to pick up our order, yet lo and behold there are a TON of other people waiting as well. The nice kid at the counter says it's probably gonna be another 45 mins. "No sweat." I told him. I always feel bad for customer service people who just want to do their job and have frustrated customers because there is an unusual hold up. The way people were talking to him, this kid was getting a crash course in conflict management and wasn't enjoying it :). Don't you hate to see that? So we take Temple and just go kill some time; walked to a couple stores and what not.
When we come back, they still don't have our food ready but there are hardly any customers in the building and at least (I kid you not) 20 to-go orders sitting on the counter waiting to be picked up. Apparently, people don't feel the need to place an order and then actually pay for the service. So we were talking to the same kid (I wish I would've gotten his name) and when our order comes up he says "Hey, you guys want to take some of this food? We are just going to trash it anyways..." "Yeah, of course!" :) We paid for 2 entrees and walked out with SEVEN! How rad is that? :P So not only did we get amazing Pei Wei cuisine that night, but we will have it for the rest of the week as well. I have always loved the service at Pei Wei, and this is just one more cool point to add to their already stellar reputation.
