Anyway, it was a typical Sunday morning; I was playing with and chewing on my crib bumper waiting for mom and dad to realize I was up so they would come and get me. I hear something... sounds like a click and then a little shuffle. I stop my chewing and look up to see what it is and oh, to my joy, it's mommy and daddy! Once again, they came back from wherever they go when they put me in here! I can't help but smile because they always talk in those really high pitched tones when they come and get me... it's their little ritual, I guess, so I just go along with it. So they pick me up and feed me my usual, formula slightly warmed straight up no rocks, just how I like it. I finished my bottle and am feeling slightly rotund and satisfied. One of these days I will start exercising. Then something unusual happened.
Mommy came in and the look on her face was oddly happy; not usual happy, but MORE happy kinda happy... she had a toy in her hand and for some reason handed it to daddy. This is wrong because the rules clearly state that 'All toys in the house belong to ME'. He looked up at mommy and smiled. I didn't get it at the time, all I wanted was the toy and couldn't figure out why they wouldn't give it to me. What was the big fuss, it's just a chewy toy thingy, I have like... 7 of them (daddy's been teaching me math). So they start hugging and laughing and then they would stop and just look at each other and then started laughing again. Odd behavior but I had no hypothesis to go off of (he's also been teaching me science). Then after a couple of minutes they finally gave me the chew toy so that I could be happy too. Thank you and it was about time! Then I realized something...
When I looked closer, I realized that looks could be deceiving. For I stared not at a toy for mine mouth and mine chewing, but behold! I held in my hands the proof of new life within mine mother's womb (Shakespeare). A test of pregnancy! And it had 2 lines. I pooped my pants... yes yes, I do this every day (hopefully, mommy says) but this was different.
I didn't know what to think! I was caught off guard at first; I am, after all, the only child in the family... Well, mommy says that daddy acts like a child sometimes, but that's because she thinks I can't understand what she's saying. However, when the truth sank in and I realized I was going to have a baby brother or sister (hopefully a baby sister), I was overjoyed... And then I did what I naturally do and started chewing on the pregnancy test. I'm a baby... not a saint.
So anyways, that's the story from my side of things, hope you enjoyed it and I would love to hear your thoughts. Here are some pictures that daddy took. Thank you and goodnight, I am tired and going down for nappy-time.
