I love food... always have, always will. I like to eat it, mostly, that's my favorite part. :P My mom wasn't all that great of a cook growing up (sorry mom! :). She knows this because we still give her grief for a few occasions where her culinary experiments turned out to be biologically hazardous :D One time she decided to 'GRILL' burgers... Jason, my brother, took one bite and juice from inside went squirting across the table! :) But you gotta love the woman for trying! She didn't ever learn from her mom so she really isn't to blame; she is actually a good cook these days because she eats all organic/healthy food and found some great recipes (pride restored :D). This was a curse growing up which, to my great delight, has turned into a huge blessing; I can appreciate so many kinds of food now more than ever :). Emily loves this as well because I am so easy to cook for!
There are times, though, when we run out of ideas and the following occurs:
me:
"Hey babe, what are we having for dinner?"
wife:
"I don't know, what?"
me:
"I'm asking YOU..."
wife:
"We don't have anything to make."
me:
"Yes we do... I'll look." 5 minutes later... "I don't know what I'm looking for."
wife:
"Told you we didn't have anything..."
So what do we do now? Well usually we go out and spend our precious earned money on In-N-Out or pizza :)... quick, easy, yet not as good or healthy as a home-cooked meal. So the other night we did something we don't usually do; we looked online to see what we could find. Kelsey Karcher, one of our fabulous brides-to-be, has a phenomenal culinary blog called APPLE A DAY and we checked out her blog for some tasty ideas for the night :) We found this great recipe for Chicken & Black Bean Quesadillas that were to die for! So we went to the store, picked up what we needed, and created a cooking mess that was well worth the deliciousness... oh, and we had leftovers :-). Thanks Kelsey for the recipe!
Temple wishing she had more teeth to eat our delicious food with :)
Nothing more attractive than my wife making me a rad meal... :-)
Ever since Spain, Sangria is my beverage of choice
Our work complete... I made the Guacamole :)
Happy Monday everyone!
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for looking on my blog and for making one of the recipes. I'm so glad you liked it!
