Jesse and Kimme at Papago Park

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a restful and relaxing weekend... Although we cleaned the house and had my Grandma's 80th birthday over the weekend, we still managed to find time to get some good rest in. Some much needed rest after the past 2 weeks we have had. On Saturday, when we woke up and were deciding what the day was going to look like, the last thing we wanted to do were chores around the house. You can imagine that with a 1-year old, things can get real messy real fast :) (ohhhh, we love our little angel!) Well, our place was a disaster. Have you ever tried to have a relaxing weekend and go out and have some fun, but in the back of your mind is the nagging thought that your messy laundry is calling you? Doesn't it just ruin your weekend? I may be crazy but it ruins mine... Anyway, we made the tough choice to just clean... and clean and clean until our place was looking livable again. And we did this knowing that we wouldn't have to worry about it on Sunday and especially on Monday; they would bring their own problems without us procrastinating. I must admit, we felt a sense of accomplishment in knowing that we did the RIGHT thing, not the easy thing :)

Changing gears...

Jesse and Kimme are this great couple that found us on Google and booked us to do a shoot in the desert. They are this funny married couple and have lived here together for a short time, just a small part of their lives as they are finishing school and what not, and then moving on to more permanent things. Actually they are moving to Wisconsin which is crazy as Jesse hates the cold :), but that's the next stop in their lives. Well, they wanted to get some pictures to remember this time in their lives in the desert, so of course I was happy to work with them.

We went out to Papago Park for their photo shoot and had a great time... mostly. Mostly because... well, the spot we wanted to go to, which is this giant hole in the mountain that you can easily walk up to and which offers great photographic stuff, was closed off. For BEES, of all things. Well, we figured it wasn't as bad as they were making it out to be; if we leave the bees alone, they will leave us alone, right? So we just went in anyways ;). We weren't up there for more 15 minutes when the bees decide that they didn't like us up there, one of which STUNG Kimme! I'm thinking to myself 'Oh this is going GREAT...' Kimme actually took it like a champ, though, and responded more like she was bitten by an ant. I, on the other hand, started to have a couple bees attack me and I was swinging around and running back through the whole in the rock like an idiot. :) No manly pride when I have bees chasing me. So after that little episode, we finished up our shoot AWAY from the hole and we didn't have any more problems with poisonous insects, thank God for that...

This was at the hole in the rock 'before' the stinging incident :)

Good luck to the happy couple and safe travels to your new home. It will be an adjustment for sure, and we wish you all the blessings in your new home and with this next stage of your lives...
