An Engagement Post: Matthew + Jennifer

Matthew and Jennifer were a referral of a friend of a friend of a friend :) It was crazy the chain that was created to hook the 4 of us up at Starbucks one day talking about photography and wedding plans. They got married in Memphis a couple weeks ago, which is why we went out there. I am working on their wedding images as I am writing this and I'm really excited to see how they come out! :) Anyway, they still wanted to get engagement photos, which we took less than a week before their wedding day in Tennessee :) For their engagement session, they took us to the Arizona Desert Botanical Gardens which is a really awesome place! I had never been inside, and this place is really unique. It's not very often that you see a garden full of desert flowers and cacti.

I will have more of their wedding photos very soon! For starters, though, here are Matthew and Jennifer during their engagement shoot, I hope you enjoy :)

The first thing we did was a reenactment of Matthew proposing :) It was pretty funny and Jennifer couldn't stop laughing to save her life!

Glendale Wedding Photographer: Andrew + Brianna Engagement Session

Photobucket
This past Sunday, Emily and I shot an engagement session for a very cool couple, Andrew and Brianna. I just met Andrew for the first time on Sunday, but Brianna is someone Emily and I have been working with for almost a year now! Brianna is my wedding coordinator extraordinaire and is one of the most assertive people I know! I get along with assertive people very well; which is a plus because my wife is in the same camp ;) Anyway, Brianna contacted us about a year ago and told us that she had been 'stalking' our blog and loved our work :) She was starting up her wedding coordinating business and wanted to work closely with us. We LOVE working with coordinators so of course we were VERY excited about this! :)

We chose a couple locations for this shoot, the latter part of the shoot being at Westgate and the first location we need to keep a secret :) Not because we want to hoard it to ourselves as that's not our style, but it's kind of private property and we don't want a bunch of photogs shooting sessions there which could resort in it getting locked down for future shoots. I don't think they would care if we were on their property, but then again I don't know who to ask permission so we are just going to keep it open as an option until we find out otherwise ;)

So here are some of the best shots from their shoot. Let us know what you think ;)

Then it was on over to Westgate to finish off the shoot. This is a RAD location!

Phoenix Wedding Photographer: E-Session Gage + Jordyn

Photobucket

The day we got back from camping, Emily and I shot an engagement session (sort of :) for some good friends of ours, Gage and Jordyn. I've known Gage for years now and we used to play in a band together for our church at the time. Their wedding ceremony is going to be really classy and beautiful, so Jordyn really wanted to do something edgy to contrast their wedding pictures! This was such a fun shoot for us as we love doing edgy shoots :). Also, and Gage and Jordyn gave us permission to put this up here so we aren't ruining any secrets, but they were already married 3 months ago! I was so shocked and happy for them when they told us this! One, engagement life isn't really fun because all you can do is think about being married. And two, this meant that we could get really steamy and not get any flack for it ;) And as you will see, some of their pictures came out really steamy! But hey! they are married and photographs are supposed to show the romantic relationship between a man and a woman, am I right? :) So here are some of our favs from their shoot!
